Simon Gardner

Photography (and video production) are pursuits that require both creative vision and technical know-how.

Simon strives to balance both in producing work with impact and visual appeal.

He has been involved in visual arts and storytelling since his teens. His work for CTV and CBC television has won multiple awards including Silver at the Chicago International Film Festival and the Best Documentary award at the Alberta Film and Television Festival.

He has written numerous articles for publications ranging from Ottawa Magazine to Photo Techniques Magazine.

His vivid-colour abstract photographic work is influenced by the late, legendary American photographer, Pete Turner.

For clients in the Ottawa area, he also offers portraits and head-shots, in-studio and outdoors. He likes to use a real rock-wall background combined with studio-quality strobe lighting. Examples can be seen in the portraits section.
